Region: Kootenay National Park

Kootenay National Park is a long and skinny park sandwiched in between Yoho National Park to its north, Banff National Park to its east, and Assiniboine Provincial Park to its south. The park is entirely in British Columbia and follows Highway 93 (south) almost to Radium and Invermere. Although there isn't quite as much scenery as the other areas in the Rockies, Kootenay still has its fair share of stunning trips such as the multi day Rockwall Trail, the short Marble Canyon outing, or the day hike to the Stanley Glacier. Since the park follows the highway, most areas can be accessed within a days walk (even parts of the Rockwall trail) and this park is definitely worth checking out to get away from the crowds in the more popular areas.
